Holiday look 2: Jumpsuit

Coat: Ralph Lauren. Jumpsuit: Rachel Roy Similar here Also love the ones Here and Here. Purse: Tory Burch Shoes: Aldo

Jumpsuits are everywhere right now, and I couldn't be happier! I like to be a little more covered up most of the time, and a jumpsuit is the perfect way to obtain a dressier look without having to show it all off. A couple tips to buying a jumpsuit are to try and pick one that doesn't have an elastic waistband, I find that it can create a weird bunching effect around the tailbone that generally isn't flattering on any body type. Also, make sure that you can raise your arms without the whole suit riding up too high. If you are purchasing one in black I recommend styling it with a statement necklace and a possibly a printed or colourful shoe, but if you're doing colour try to keep all the accessories neutral. With that being said I've added a few links for some great jumpsuits that are available right now. Happy shopping,
PB

Holiday look 1: SEQUINS

Dress: JS Collection Similar Here and Here Jacket: Joe Fresh Similar Here Purse: Coach

The holidays are the perfect time to bust out that sparkly little number thats been hiding in the back of your closet. It is always good to think about what kind of outerwear you have to match your outfit, thankfully I have this wonderful faux fur jacket that I can wear with all my lighter coloured dresses. I also want everyone to keep in mind that while you may buy a new dress for the holidays, you don't HAVE to buy all matching accessories that you may only use once, try asking a friend if they have a purse or earrings that match, or use something you already own that is close enough. Being stylish isn't about looking perfect, you don't need to break the bank to look great!

Just a word from the wise, make sure if you are buying a sequinned dress you wear it around the store for a bit and make sure it doesn't rub or cut your skin (trust me it can ruin your night). Happy holiday dress shopping,
PB

Camel

Coat: In grey Here Sweater: Topshop Jeans: Garage Shoes: old-Similar here Purse: Rebecca Minkoff

This week was all about being comfortable (well maybe minus the high heels), so I put together an outfit of some of my go to pieces. These jegging jeans from garage are not only one of the most comfortable pieces that I own, but the fact that they cost me $44.90 is pretty hard to beat. I added a black sweater by Topshop with a silk ruffle detail at the hem, which I love because it adds a little something extra to what could be just another black sweater. Then I topped it with this great Ralph Lauren reefer coat I bought last year from The Bay during an after holiday season clearance sale. This outfit could easily be worn with a pair of riding boots for a more day time look if you aren't one for doing errands in a heel. My tip of the week is to never underestimate what a heel can do for you, its easy to transition a daytime outfit to evening with just a simple shoe change. Happy shopping, XO

Marooned

Jacket: Danier (similiar here) Dress: Aritzia Boots: Vince Camuto Purse: Tory Burch Sunglasses: Farmfresh "Kaiser" Scarff: Old

When the weather starts to get cold it is easy to wear a pair of jeans and a sweater everyday. I have a severe love of dresses and its actually what I am most comfortable in, if I could wear a dress everyday I would! This is why I opted for this mid length dress that keeps you warm but looks super cute. Its also an ideal length for anyone who is not super keen on showing off their legs. Thankfully midi skirts and dresses are everywhere right now so next time your shopping try one on. Happy shopping, XO

Stripes and leather and fur, OH MY

Skirt: Forever 21 (old) Similar here Sweater: Target Vest: Target Hat: Old Similar here Purse: Tory Burch Boots: Vince Camuto Watch: Armani Exchange

My shopping tip of the week is to go look at lower budget stores for your trendy pieces in case they go out of style after one season. There is an identical vest to this one at Club Monaco for $198.50, whereas I purchased this at Target for $34.99. If you are going to spend a lot of money on one item, I always recommend buying a great pair of jeans or a pair of riding boots that you will get a lot of use out of. When you think about it, we all spend extra money on a fancy party dress we only wear twice, but cant rationalize spending that same amount of money on a pair of jeans we will wear 3 times a week. Think smart when you're shopping this week, XO

Today I also want to give a special shout out to my friend Alex Johnson who is the amazing photographer, taking all of my photos, and being so supportive with my new hobby.  If anyone is looking to have pictures taken for a special event you can look her up at Xandra Photography.

Leather and Lace

Dress: Nastygal similar here Leggings: Old Similar Here Jacket: S.O.S SImilar here Clutch: Shoppers drug mart Shoes: Sam Edleman. Sunglasses: Farmfresh

Whenever someone asks me what types of clothing I prefer or about my style, I am never sure what to say. I have always considered myself a bit of a chameleon, everyday my outfit is different depending on how I am feeling that morning. Sometimes I want to be the ultimate girly girl and wear a beautiful dress and feminine jewelery, and then other days like today I want something a little more edgy and choose a pair of leather leggings and a moto style jacket. I wanted to make the outfit a little softer so I opted for this white swing dress with lace detailing.  The moral of the story today is that you shouldn't put yourself in a box when it comes to personal style, try something different next time you go into a store, or the next time you are shopping and you see something and think " This looks like something ___ would wear" try it on for yourself, you might just find a new piece that can spice up your wardrobe. Happy shopping. XO,
PB

Jewels and Stripes

Top: Club Monaco. Smiliar here Jacket: KEW. 159. Similar here Jeans: Gap Shoes: Sam Edelman Bag: Salvatore Ferragamo Earrings: Bauble Bar

I love pairing pieces that you wouldn't expect to go well together. There's nothing wrong with pairing an embellished top with a different pattern or texture, just make sure you keep the rest of the outfit neutral, because you don't want to overdo it. My shopping tip of the week is to hit up a vintage store, you never know what kind of wonderful things you might find, and the best part is that you'll likely be the only one wearing it. Happy Shopping XO,
PB

Leather for days

Dress: Zara Jacket: S.O.S (similar here) Bag: Tory Burch
Shoes: Zigi Soho (Similar Here) Sunglasses: Farmfresh

I am obsessed with this new dress I bought from Zara while I was in Vancouver visiting friends. I had been on the hunt for a black leather skirt to wear with a chunky knit sweater, but figured this dress could do double duty. My shopping tip for the week is to try to get the most out of your clothes, when your buying something think about what you already own that will go with it, can you make more than one outfit out of that piece? Happy shopping xo,
PB

Back to Black
Shorts: Joe Fresh. Top: Michael Kors. Shoes: Steve Madden. Bag: Tory Burch

I think people have a misconception of what it takes to make an amazing outfit, and while a big clothing budget may seem like the right answer that's not always the case. I paired $29.00 shorts from Joe Fresh with a Michael Kors top I found at winners for $89.99 (Winners is my favorite place to find designer goods for a fraction of the cost). My shopping tip for the day is NEVER skip the sale rack, some of my favorite pieces were found rooting through clearance racks. I believe that lots of clothes end up on the clearance rack because they don't present well on the hanger, so be adventurous, try something you wouldn't normally go for, you just might find that missing link. Happy shopping xo,
