Cant get enough of Plaid

Dress: BB dakota Jacket: Danier  Purse: Tory Burch (in pink for spring) Booties: Vince Camuto (similar here) Sunglasses: Farmfresh Lipstick: Lise Watier "Cassis"

Winters in Winnipeg are freezing, and those of us who live here year round know that there is nothing greater than a comfy plaid shirt to get you through the cold months. I have a TNA shirt from Aritzia that is this same print in flannel that everyone MUST go out and buy! I got mine cheap on a black friday sale and its been worth its weight in gold.
That being said my love of plaid goes beyond flannel, this BB dakota dress is the perfect way to take a plaid pattern and work it into an evening or more dressed up daytime outfit. Ive paired if with tights and my favorite daytime booties for a date with my beautiful photographer Xandra Photography. I have also worn it with leggings and moto-inspired boots to dress it down to run errands or head to class. I love how this pairs with my new leather jacket that I scored from Danier on sale over the holidays, right now its on clearance from $449.00 down to $149.00 so if you're looking for a new jacket follow the link above to purchase.
As usual I am carrying my Robinson Tote by Tory Burch that I'm pretty sure I could not live without. It was my first expensive bag I've ever owned and I have used it almost everyday for a year and a half. If anyone out there is looking to invest in a high quality bag that will be in style forever, I recommend looking into purchasing this tote because its so versatile, it even fits my laptop and binder for when i'm running back and forth to school. Happy shopping, XO

Black and White

Dress: Winners Jacket: Calvin Klein Blouse: H&M Bag: Tory Burch
Shoes: Zigi Soho: similar here Sunglasses: Farmfresh Earrings: Baublebar

Its been too cold to go out and take pictures lately, so i'm using one that Xandra photography and I shot a few months ago but hadn't used yet. This outfit can be worn in the colder weather also, all you need to do it add tights or pantyhose and you're ready to roll. I try to make my clothes stretch throughout as many seasons as possible, and for some of my favourite pieces such as this dress, it can be really easy.
You can use one of your summer dresses in 1 of 2 ways, first you can add a button up blouse in a corresponding color, like I have done here, or you can wear the dress (best with a skater skirt) with a chunky sweater overtop. I wore this same dress with a cropped knit sweater with a heavy cowled neck out for dinner with Graeme the other night and it looked great and was cozy but had a feminine flare to it. If you are pairing the dress with a sweater, you can even wear it with a pair of riding boots for a comfortable day outfit, then throw some heels on at night and you're ready for dinner or for drinks with the girls.
If you're starting to get bored with your winter wardrobe, look through our summer stuff and see which pieces are versatile, I want to see you getting the most bang for your buck. Happy shopping XO,
PB

Midriff

Dress: BCBG-long version here Jacket: Ralph Lauren Bag: Tory Burch Necklace: American Apparel

I am currently obsessed with the idea of wearing a crop top, however like many of you I don't feel 100% comfortable baring a full midriff. Thats why I love this dress so much, it just gives little peek-a-boos of skin here and there, while giving the desired effect. Im going to suggest for those of you who are in the market for a dress that has cut outs, to make sure that they are located in a spot that will make you comfortable, and to test sitting in it before you make the purchase.

I know I have had this Jacket on repeat lately, but I just love it so much. I promise ill switch it up soon and show everyone something new. Stay tuned and happy shopping, XO

Wishing everyone a happy new year

I am not normally one for new years resolutions but I do like the idea of a fresh start each time a new year comes around. It reminds me to take value in the smaller things in life that we sometimes lose sight of when life gets busy (or you get stuck in a Netflix marathon for days, don't judge I know you've done it too). Im not really in a position to give too much life advice about how to make 2015 the best year ever because most of you know I could use all the help I can get but, I can help you start 2015 off looking fabulous.

I always do most of my shopping at this time of year because EVERYTHING is on sale. The point to shopping at this time of year is to foreshadow, say your winter gear is looking ragged, or you simply just want to purchase something new, the best time to buy is now! All of the remaining winter clothing and accessories are being blown out to make room for the spring collections and stores want to move their product, so if you're looking for winter gear get to the store now.

Also, I am at the age now where a lot of people that I know are getting married, if you're like me and you don't want to wear the same dress to weddings that have all the same people at it, this is a great time to stock up on party dresses. The Hudsons Bay has a million pretty party dresses that wont leave you scrambling to find the perfect outfit to wear and come up with presentation. It makes wedding season easier to manage if you have some of your outfit ideas in advance.

For the men out there, if its your anniversary, girlfriends birthday, you're looking for an engagement ring or just a for the hell of it present go look at jewellery now, lots of larger jewellery stores may be having sales also. Remember that accessories are seasonal too so you could luck out and save yourself some money in the long run. Happy Shopping XOXO,
